Jerry Bickel Race Car
Performance Class - JB001
If you're interested in race car chassis design & setup or if you want
to learn the metal fabrication techniques of the top pros, this is the program
for you. We offer two versions of this world famous race car building training program.
At least once a year, we conduct the class at Jerry Bickel's state-of-the-art
20,000 square foot shop located in Moscow Mills Missouri. In this program,
the class is divided into four groups that rotate to four different areas of
instruction.
Our instructors are all recognized as leaders in their field. If you elect to take the
class at Jerry Bickel's shop, you'll meet Jerry and have the
opportunity to have your questions answered by the recognized master of drag race door car
technology. Jerry's staff of fabricators and welders will be on hand to share all
the tricks of the trade in this hands-on training experience.
Our Unique Program Curriculum Includes:
þ TIG Welding -
Learn the right techniques and materials to weld steel tubing and aluminum on the
best equipment from Miller Electric. Find out what kind of fill rod you need to use,
gas ports, and a number of other important aspects of TIG welding.
þ Sheet Metal Fabrication -
to work
Our Master Fabricators will show you how to bend and roll sheet aluminum to make
professional quality interior panels and rear wings. Use a bead roller, shrinker/stretcher,
and other metal forming tools. You'll build your own "mini tub" project in this class.
þ Tube Bending -
We'll show you how to lay out bend locations using a slick computer software program.
You'll use the same equipment that's found in nearly every professional race car
shop. Try your hand by bending your own main hoop and cut the notches for a perfect
fit on the Mittler Ultimate Notcher®.
þ 4-Link Chassis Setup -
Learn front and rear end chassis geometry and what's really going on in a race car.
Set up a 4-link suspension system and learn the critical adjustments that make the
car hook up and run straight.

Two Ways to Take This Class!
Option 1: Onsite at JBRC in Missouri -
We conduct this class one to two times per year at Jerry Bickel Race Cars in Moscow
Mills, Missouri (nearest airport is STL, St. Louis MO). If you are a worker utilizing
your tuition benefit, you pay only your travel expenses and accommodations. You'll
meet Jerry Bickel & staff and work in his state-of-the-art 20,000 square foot
shop.
Option 2: On Location Near Your Plant -
If you're an hourly worker or retiree with a tuition assistance benefit, we can arrange to conduct
the class inside the plant or union hall, so long as the area meets the space &
use requirements and can be made available. If not, we often make arrangements
with a local Community College that has an auto tech program to utilize their shop facility.
We bring a large amount of equipment and one or two race cars along with three to
four world-class race car fabricators and champion racers as your instructors.
We will work closely with your plant training coordinator to work out the details
if there are enough people interested (15 enrollees minimum).
